Terms of service
The terms on which we sell to you. Nothing here reduces your statutory rights.
1. Who these terms apply to
We sell to both consumers and businesses. Some rights below apply only to consumers - meaning, under section 2(1) of the Consumer Rights Act 2022, an individual acting wholly or mainly outside their trade, business, craft or profession. If you buy for the purposes of a yard, stud, livery or other business, you are not a consumer for those purposes and the 14-day cancellation right does not apply to you.
2. Placing an order
Before you place your order we show you the total price including VAT and all charges, the delivery arrangements, and the delivery restrictions and payment methods we accept. The button that completes your order is labelled Order with obligation to pay. Pressing it creates a binding contract and an obligation to pay. Sections 106(8) and 108(3)-(5) of the Consumer Rights Act 2022.
3. Our obligations as to the goods
Goods we supply must match their description, be fit for purpose, be of the quality and possess the qualities and characteristics you can reasonably expect - including durability - and be supplied with the accessories and instructions you can reasonably expect. Section 18(1) and 18(2), Consumer Rights Act 2022.
4. If something is wrong with the goods
If goods do not conform to the contract, as a consumer you have, in parallel and not in sequence, a short-term right to terminate the contract and obtain a refund, exercisable within 30 days; and the right to have the goods repaired or replaced free of charge. You do not have to accept a repair attempt before terminating.
Where a lack of conformity becomes apparent within 12 months of delivery, it is presumed to have existed at delivery unless we prove otherwise. This is a rule about who has to prove what - it is not a guarantee period and not a deadline for making a claim. Sections 22(1), 22(4) and 23(1) of the Consumer Rights Act 2022. Ireland has no fixed two-year or three-year statutory guarantee of the continental type.
5. Commercial guarantees
Some manufacturers offer their own commercial guarantee in addition to your statutory rights - for example, Gallagher states a seven-year warranty on its fence energisers. A commercial guarantee never reduces your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2022.
6. Price and payment
Prices include Irish VAT at 23% and are the total payable; delivery is free with no minimum order. We take payment when you place your order.
7. Complaints and out-of-court redress

The EU Online Dispute Resolution platform closed on 20 July 2025 when Regulation (EU) No 524/2013 was repealed by Regulation (EU) 2024/3228. There is no replacement platform and no replacement linking obligation.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. If you are a consumer resident in another EU member state, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the law of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of your own country. Article 6 of Regulation (EC) No 593/2008 (Rome I); Articles 17-19 of Regulation (EU) No 1215/2012 (Brussels I recast).
